Brand new stix pen won't charge

I have tried charging for over 4 hours. I read online that a light should come on when charging and go off when completed. No lights at all. I'm using a micro USB corn connected to lap top. I have tried different USB cords and ports. Never lights. I did not receive a USB cord with unit..please advis...
