REPAIR USB PORT ON EVOLVE PLUS?

Hi All,
I had an Evolve which I really liked so I bought an Evolve Plus from a pipe shop in Albuquerque.
I've had the unit about a month and something has gone wrong with the USB port. I keep it in a case and it's not dirty, but I can't get the charger into the port properly.
Is there a way to repair the port? The store refused to exchange it and basically told me I was an idiot for buying it from them in the first place, which was obviously true and something I can easily fix in the future.
Yocan customer service has been spectacularly unhelpful so far, which is really annoying because I wanted to get into the affiliate program.
If there was a way to fix the port then I'd consider this as a normal part of using USB ports rather than the much more trouble free screw-on chargers.
Has anyone been able to repair one of these? Thanks for any help.
