There is a kind-of rubber gasket or seal around the removable filter. So, as i was pulling out the filter to clean it, this seal/gasket/round piece of rubber went flying off somewhere in my house but i have no idea where. It just flew off like a stretched rubber band when it's let go and i cannot find it. It could be just about anywhere.

My question is: What do i do now? Can i replace this part? Will the device work the same without it? What are the risks or consequences of using the device without it? Can i just go on using it like normal like nothing happened?
What can i do?
