Yocan Dirk in 2026: A Budget Hot Knife Walkthrough
A reviewer who picked up the Yocan Dirk hot knife with his own money put it through a morning-dab session and came away calling it one of the best entry-level hot knives he's tried.
What's in the box
The Dirk itself, a USB-C charging cable, and a quick-start manual. Nothing fancy.
Build and tip
It's a pen-shaped tool with a magnetic hot tip that pops off for storage. There's a small plastic insulator piece inside the tip — he almost sent the thing back thinking it was dead before he found it. Once it's out, the tip snaps back in place.
Settings
400 mAh battery. Five clicks on/off, three clicks cycles the three presets: 2.8V, 3.2V, 3.6V. He says you'll basically never need the high setting for cutting dabs — the middle one is where it lives.
How it cuts
He loaded a VPM dab pipe with Eden Trees live resin, held the button, and sliced a clean piece right off the dollop. No sticking, no dragging, no complaints. The tool gets a little sticky on the tip after use, which is expected for any hot knife.
The verdict
Score: 4.5–4.6 out of 5. Not flashy, not packed with features, but it works exactly like a hot knife should. He calls it a low-end way into the category and says the 400 mAh cell will last a good amount of on-the-go dabs.
