Yocan Black Pocket Mini – My New Go-To Daily Driver (First Impressions)
Hey everyone,
Just wanted to share my thoughts on the Yocan Black Pocket Mini after having it for about a week. I've been a fan of the Black Series for a while, but this little guy caught my attention with its compact size, so I decided to pull the trigger.
First Impressions & Build Quality
Right out of the box, the first thing you notice is how small this thing actually is. We're talking 32 × 26 × 86mm— it genuinely disappears in your pocket. The aluminum alloy body feels solid and premium, not cheap or plasticky at all. No rattling parts, just a nice, hefty feel that screams quality. I grabbed mine in black, but I've seen they also come in purple, pink, silver, and blue.
The Specs That Matter
Here's the quick rundown for anyone who hasn't looked into it yet:
Battery: 1300mAh built-in, USB-C charging
Temperature Range: 400°F – 580°F, adjustable in 5°F increments
Heating Chamber: Cloud 2.1 Ceramic Chamber with 360° ceramic heating (no exposed coils)
Display: OLED screen showing real-time temp and status
Airpath: Removable ceramic airflow system
Extras: Terp pearls included
How It Performs
This is where things get interesting. The Cloud 2.1 chamber uses 360° ceramic heating, which means the heat is distributed evenly around your material instead of just heating from one spot. The result? No hot spots, no burnt taste — just clean, consistent vapor.
The temperature control is a game-changer. Being able to dial in exactly 5°F at a time instead of guessing between 3 presets makes a huge difference. Here's what I've been running:
Wax/Budder: 400–450°F — sweet spot for flavor and vapor
Shatter/Resin: 430–480°F — can go a bit hotter
THCa Diamonds: 480°F+ — needs that extra heat
I usually start low around 380°F for the terpenes, then bump it up 5–10°F at a time until I find the sweet spot. The OLED screen shows you exactly where you're at, so there's no guesswork.
Battery Life
The 1300mAh battery gets me about 15 sessions per charge. I've been using it daily and only had to charge it once so far. USB-C charging is a nice touch — full charge in about 90 minutes.
What I Like
Portability: Fits anywhere, super discreet
Flavor: The ceramic airpath really does preserve the taste
Precision: 5°F increments give you real control
Easy cleaning: The ceramic mouthpiece breaks down completely for cleaning
Terp pearls included: Helps with even vaporization
What Could Be Better
Single-button interface means you have to click multiple times for different functions (5x for on/off, 3x for temp, 4x for duration)— takes a little getting used to
No pass-through charging (can't use while charging)
Final Verdict
If you're looking for a compact daily driver that doesn't compromise on flavor or control, the Pocket Mini is absolutely worth checking out. It bridges the gap between ultra-portability and zero-compromise performance. For $69.90, it's honestly a steal for what you're getting.
Anyone else picked one up yet? Curious to hear your thoughts or temperature settings!
Cheers
