On December 20th, 2019, President Trump signed the Tobacco 21 bill into law and it was placed immediately. No grandfather clause was included into the new federal law, even though most states that had already passed this law had a grandfather clause included. While this bill will help to prevent minors from smoking, it is taking away the rights of smokers aged to 18-20, including military. Most business owners that sell tobacco products have already noticed an average of a 25% drop in sales. Including a grandfather clause would not only create a positive economic boost, but decrease petty crime from illegal tobacco purchases. This law was placed into effect very quickly, and did not give tobacco users enough time to quit. Please consider including a grandfather clause in the Tobacco 21 Law. source this link
